Learning a little Origami...

Origami is  Japanese art of paper folding, which started in the 17th century AD at the latest and it became popular outside of Japan in the late 1900's. Since having been brought out of Japan it has become a modern art form. The goal of the art is to fold a flat piece of paper to resemble something. Anywhere, where cutting or glue is used for this is not considered to be true origami.

I have dabbled with origami in the past, there are many videos on Youtube as a guide to making many different types of figures, for example there is the "Beating Heart" , "Crane" , "Ring" , and even a "Yoda". I have attempted these in the past, however, too hard to do, was Yoda! :P

For this part of my blog I will make an origami snake, as far as I have calculated it will take roughly about 55 sheets of A4 paper, cut into 16 pieces each and then each on of those pieces will have to be folded 8 times. Tedious? I think, yes, but....I'm into that! There will also be some coloured sections on the snake, as this is my first attempt I will keep it simple and keep him/her mainly white with some random colours (pretty much whatever pens/markers I have in my penholder that have any ink left in them!!)

Let's hope I don't get too many paper cuts!!! *crosses fingers*

Welcome

Welcome to my FIRST BLOG! After many hours trying to figure out what to write about, I decided that the best thing to do was to just start and see what comes out (said the actress to the bishop).
There were few topics that I found that I had enough knowledge in that I could write about them to a large extent, jack-of-all-trades kind of person. I know a little about English literature and Geography *glances at B.A.* I enjoy music, playing and listening, I enjoy socializing and meeting new people as well as having an interest in computers and the development of my "skills".
I plan to write about various different things that I am passionate about and am very open to feedback and other people's opinions on those topics!
Hope you enjoy! :)

I look forward to this :S
